ERASMUS+ Adventure in Naples: Day 2

Mar 26, 2026 | Erasmus+

Nuestro viaje Erasmus+ en Nápoles continúa, y nuestro alumnado ha disfrutado de un segundo día lleno de experiencias.

«Our second day in Naples started with great excitement as we continued discovering the city. We walked along Via dei Tribunali, one of the oldest streets in Naples, which follows the layout of the ancient Greek city of Neapolis. There, we took photos with Pulcinella, a traditional character that represents humor and popular culture in Naples.

Then, we went to the “street of books” on Via Port’Alba, a charming place full of small bookshops.

Next, we visited Naples Cathedral, the main cathedral of the city. Inside, we saw beautiful chapels and impressive frescoes on the ceiling.

After that, we walked to San Gregorio Armeno, also known as the street of nativity scenes. This street is famous for its traditional handmade Christmas figures, which are an important part of Neapolitan culture.

At lunchtime, we stopped to eat and try some typical dishes. We had fried pizza, lasagna and zucchini pie. Everything was delicious.

Next, we visited the Santa Chiara Complex. We entered the cloister of the nuns of Santa Chiara, which is famous for its colorful 18th-century ceramic tiles.

Later, we went to the Church of Gesù Nuovo. From the outside, it looks quite simple, but inside it is full of art, chapels and beautiful frescoes.

We also saw the Treasure of San Gennaro, a collection of valuable religious objects dedicated to the city’s patron saint.

One of the most impressive moments of the day was our visit to the Sansevero Chapel, where we saw the famous Veiled Christ. This sculpture is incredible because the veil looks real, even though it is made of marble.

During our trip, we also visited the Alfonso Casanova Institute, a higher education centre where we had a very interesting experience.

We met Erasmus students and vocational training students from different countries who are currently studying there. It was a great opportunity to meet people from many places. There were students from Spain (represented by schools from Andalusia and Madrid), as well as from Turkey, Greece and other countries.

During the meeting, we presented how learning works in our own institutions. We talked about our education systems, the teaching methods used in each school, and the different ways students learn in each country.

It was not only about presentations, but also about getting to know each other, sharing ideas and experiences, and understanding different cultures.

This experience was very enriching for all of us, as we were able to learn from each other and see education from different perspectives.

Finally, we had dinner in a trattoria, where we tried more Italian food (because it’s never enough!). It was the perfect way to end a very busy and interesting day.«
